Change your SmartSize plan¶
Guide type: Task guide Difficulty: Beginner Applies to: SmartSize plans and billing
Change your SmartSize plan when you need more size charts, advanced size chart features, AI translations, fit quizzes, or a higher monthly fit quiz recommendation quota.
SmartSize billing is handled through Shopify. When you choose a paid plan, Shopify shows the final charge and asks you to approve it before the change takes effect.
Before you start¶
Make sure you have:
- permission to approve app charges in Shopify
- a clear idea of whether you need size charts only or fit quizzes as well
- your expected monthly fit quiz recommendation volume if you plan to use Pro
For the latest prices and plan details, check the SmartSize pricing page.
1. Review the plan options¶
SmartSize offers plans for stores that need size charts only and Pro plans for stores that also need AI fit quizzes.

Use this quick guide when comparing plans:
| If you need... | Consider... |
|---|---|
| Basic size charts at no cost | Free |
| More published size charts and design options | Starter |
| Unlimited published size charts | Growth |
| Fit quizzes and AI size recommendations | Pro |
| A higher monthly recommendation quota | A higher Pro tier |
Plan details can change, so always confirm the current price and included features before approving a plan change.
2. Open Plans in SmartSize¶
In SmartSize, open Plans from the app navigation.
3. Choose the plan that fits your store¶
Choose the plan based on how much sizing support your store needs today, and what you expect to need soon.
If you are just getting started, the Free plan is usually enough to test SmartSize with a small catalog. It includes 2 published size charts, so it works well when you only need charts for one or two product groups and want to confirm that the Size Chart button works well on your product pages.
Choose Starter when size charts are becoming part of your regular storefront setup. It includes 10 published size charts, which is a better fit if you have several product types, collections, or brands that each need their own chart. Starter also adds more design and translation features than Free.
Choose Growth when you have a larger catalog or many product groups that each need their own chart. Growth includes unlimited published size charts, so it is usually the right size-chart plan when you do not want to manage around a chart limit.
Choose Pro when you want shoppers to get a personalized size recommendation through a fit quiz. Pro includes unlimited published size charts plus AI fit quiz features. It is for stores that want to reduce sizing uncertainty, guide shoppers beyond a static table, or support products where body shape and fit preference matter.
If you already use fit quizzes, choose the Pro tier based on your monthly recommendation volume. A recommendation is counted when a unique shopper receives a size recommendation during the month. If your store is approaching the quota, move to a higher Pro tier.
If you are not sure, start by deciding whether you need only size charts or also fit quizzes. Then compare the detailed feature list in SmartSize plans and feature limits.
4. Approve the charge in Shopify¶
After you choose a paid plan, Shopify opens the billing approval step.
Review the charge carefully. Check:
- the plan name
- the billing amount
- whether billing is monthly or annual
- the trial or billing start details, if shown
Approve the charge only when the details look correct.
5. Confirm your plan in SmartSize¶
After Shopify approves the plan change, return to SmartSize.
Check that your new plan is active. If your plan includes a fit quiz recommendation quota, review the usage section so you know how much monthly capacity is available.
6. Check features that depend on your plan¶
After changing plans, confirm that the features you upgraded for are available.
For example:
- If you upgraded for more size charts, check your published size chart limit.
- If you upgraded for AI translations, open the size chart translation settings.
- If you upgraded to Pro, check that fit quiz features are available.
- If you changed Pro tiers, check the monthly recommendation quota.
If the plan change does not appear¶
If your new plan does not show in SmartSize right away:
- Refresh SmartSize.
- Check that Shopify approved the charge.
- Confirm that you are logged into the correct Shopify store.
- Wait a few minutes and refresh again.
If the plan still does not appear, contact SmartSize support with your store URL and the plan you selected.
