Translate SmartSize button labels

Use this guide to translate the visible SmartSize button labels on your storefront.

This article covers only button labels, such as:

  • Size Chart
  • Find my size

It does not cover size chart content or fit quiz content.

What can be translated here

Use this guide when you want to translate the text shoppers click to open SmartSize on a product page.

For example, you may want shoppers to see a localized version of Size Chart or Find my size.

Button label translations are handled through Shopify's translation tools for app embed text.

What this article does not cover

This article does not cover:

  • translating size chart tables or size chart content
  • translating fit quiz questions, results, or recommendation text
  • editing size names or measurements inside a chart

Size chart content can be translated or edited in SmartSize. That workflow belongs in a separate size chart translation article.

Fit quiz content is already translated and maintained by the SmartSize team. Merchants do not edit fit quiz question or result translations directly.

Before you start

Make sure you have:

  • Shopify Translate & Adapt installed or available in your Shopify admin
  • the storefront language you want to translate into
  • the SmartSize app extension turned on in your live theme for the button you want to translate

1. Open Shopify Translate & Adapt

In Shopify admin, open Translate & Adapt.

In the navigation, choose App embeds.

2. Select the SmartSize app embed text

In App embeds, select the SmartSize resource for the button you want to translate.

Depending on the button, this may appear as a SmartSize size chart or fit quiz app embed string.

3. Translate the button label

Find the button label field.

Enter the translated text for the selected language.

Enter the translated text for the button label. For example, translate Size Chart into the equivalent in your target language.

Click Save in Shopify Translate & Adapt.

4. Repeat for the other SmartSize button if needed

If you use both size charts and fit quizzes, repeat the same process for both storefront buttons:

  • the Size Chart button
  • the Find my size button

The translation process is the same, but the app embed resource and button label are different.

Check the result

After saving the translation:

  1. Open the storefront in the translated language.
  2. Open a product that matches your SmartSize product display rules.
  3. Confirm the translated button label appears.
  4. Click the button and confirm the SmartSize popup opens.

If the translation does not appear

Check that:

  • you saved the translation in Shopify Translate & Adapt
  • you are viewing the storefront in the translated language
  • the product page shows the SmartSize button in the original language before translation
  • the correct SmartSize app embed resource was translated
