Upload a size table with AI¶
Guide type: Task guide Difficulty: Intermediate Applies to: Fit quizzes
Let SmartSize read a size chart image and automatically fill in the quiz size table.
Before you start¶
- You have a fit quiz in Draft status. If you need to create one, follow Create a fit quiz.
- You have a clear image of a size chart. The image should show size labels and measurement values in rows and columns. Avoid heavy styling, rotated text, or cropped edges.
- The image is saved as PNG or JPG and is under 10 MB.
- For best results, crop the image so the table fills most of the frame. Remove decorative borders, watermarks, or background patterns that could be mistaken for data.
1. Open the size table upload¶
In SmartSize, go to Fit quizzes and open the quiz you want to edit. Scroll to the Size table section and click Add files.

2. Select your image¶
Choose the size chart image from your computer. The image uploads and appears as a preview inside the size table section.

3. Tell SmartSize what the image contains¶
Open the My image contains dropdown and choose the option that matches your chart:
- Body measurements — the chart shows body measurements such as bust, waist, and hip ranges.
- Product measurements — the chart shows garment dimensions such as shirt length or sleeve width.
- Mixed — the chart contains both body and product measurements.

Choosing the right option helps SmartSize extract the correct values and label the columns properly.
4. Start extraction¶
Click Start Extraction. SmartSize analyzes the image and reads the table structure.

Extraction usually takes a few seconds for a simple table and up to a minute for a chart with many sizes or mixed units. Wait for the progress indicator to finish before continuing.
5. Review the extracted table¶
When extraction completes, SmartSize shows the filled size table and an AI summary of what was found.

Check the table carefully. Common issues to look for: - Missing sizes at the top or bottom of the range. - Values swapped between columns. - Wrong unit, such as inches read as centimeters. - Extra text or symbols mixed into numbers.
If the extraction looks wrong, you can delete the table and try again with a clearer image, or switch to manual entry or paste from a spreadsheet. Before re-uploading, crop the image so only the table is visible and remove decorative borders or background patterns that may confuse the AI. If the chart has both metric and imperial columns, choose the unit your shoppers use and ignore the other column during review.
6. Save the quiz¶
After you confirm the data is correct, click Save.
Check the result¶
Make sure the quiz is set to Active so shoppers can see it on the storefront.
The size table shows all sizes with measurement ranges filled in. Open the live preview, enter a height and weight, and verify the recommended size matches the extracted chart.
If you notice any errors, follow Review and correct AI table data to fix them before publishing.
