Customize size chart blocks

Guide type: Task guide Difficulty: Intermediate Applies to: Size chart content blocks

Use size chart blocks to adjust the content shoppers see inside a SmartSize size chart. Blocks can help you add tables, text, images, recommendation explanations, dividers, videos, or buttons.

This guide starts after you already have a size chart. If you have not created one yet, follow Create your first size chart first.

Before you start

Make sure you have:

  • a size chart created in SmartSize
  • the measurements, text, or media you want to add
  • one product connected to the size chart so you can preview the result

For a first customization pass, make one change at a time, save it, and check the preview before changing more blocks.

1. Open the size chart editor

In SmartSize, open the size chart you want to customize.

The editor shows your size chart preview in the center and the editable sections or blocks around it.

2. Add a section or block

Use the size chart editor controls to add a new section or block.

Open the block menu and choose the type of content you want to add.

Common block types include:

  • Text for headings, notes, and explanations
  • Table for measurements
  • Image for fit diagrams or measuring instructions
  • Video for richer guidance
  • Divider for separating sections
  • Button for linking shoppers to another action

3. Edit a text block

Use a text block when you need a heading, short note, measuring instruction, or extra context above or below a table.

Select the text block, then edit the content in the settings panel.

Keep text short and practical. Shoppers usually open a size chart while deciding what to buy, so the most useful text is clear and direct.

4. Customize a table block

Use a table block for the main size measurements.

Select the table block, then adjust the table style and settings. For example, you can choose a cleaner table style or make the header more visible.

SmartSize offers several table styles. Try different styles to see which one fits your store design.

If needed, adjust table borders, spacing, colors, typography, alignment, or display options.

You can also change border styles, cell spacing, and colors to match your brand.

For most stores, keep the table simple. A readable table is more important than a heavily styled table.

5. Add a recommendation block

A recommendation block can explain how SmartSize uses sizing information or guide shoppers toward the best next action.

Choose a recommendation block layout, then review the preview. After you select a layout, check that the recommendation block supports the chart instead of distracting from the measurements.

6. Add an image block

Use an image block when a visual guide helps shoppers understand where or how to measure.

For example, you can add a fit diagram, body measurement illustration, or garment measurement image.

If you need to select an image, choose the file from the image picker. After the image is added, check the preview to see how it looks inside the chart.

Use images that are easy to understand at mobile size. Avoid adding large images that make shoppers scroll past the actual measurements.

7. Add a video block if it helps shoppers measure

Use a video block only when the video adds practical value, such as showing how to measure a body part or garment.

If the same instruction can be explained in one sentence, use a text block instead.

8. Add dividers or buttons only when needed

A divider can separate sections when the chart has several different content areas.

A button block can guide shoppers to another action, such as opening a fit quiz or another sizing resource.

You can change the button style, position, and width to fit your chart layout.

Keep buttons focused. Too many actions inside a size chart can make the chart harder to use.

9. Save and preview your changes

After you finish editing blocks, save the size chart.

Then preview the chart on desktop and mobile. Check that:

  • the main measurements are still easy to find
  • text is short and readable
  • images fit the available space
  • optional blocks support the shopper's decision
  • the chart still works for the connected product

If the chart feels too long, remove anything that does not help shoppers choose a size.

Make sure the chart is set to Active so shoppers can see your changes on the storefront.

What to do next

After your blocks look good, you can:

  • adjust product display rules for more products or collections
  • change where the Size Chart button appears
  • translate size chart content for other storefront languages
  • create another size chart for a different product group
