Linked products¶
Guide type: Task guide
Difficulty: Intermediate
Applies to: Size charts, fit quizzes
The Linked products page shows every product in your store and which size charts and fit quizzes are connected to it. Use it to audit your coverage, spot gaps, and refresh the linked product cache when your catalog or display rules change.
Before you start¶
Make sure you have:
- at least one size chart or fit quiz saved in SmartSize
- products in your Shopify catalog
- the SmartSize app extensions turned on in your live theme
If you have not created a size chart yet, start with Create your first size chart.
What the Linked products page shows¶
When you open Linked products in SmartSize, you see a table with one row per product. Each row shows:
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Product thumbnail and name | The product from your Shopify catalog. Click the name to open the product in Shopify admin. |
| Size chart status | Active (green badge) or Draft (blue badge). Shows — if no size chart is linked. |
| Size chart name | The title of the linked size chart. Click to open it in the editor. A chain icon (🔗) means the chart is linked through a fit quiz, not directly. |
| Fit quiz status | Active (green badge) or Draft (blue badge). Shows — if no quiz is linked. |
| Fit quiz name | The title of the linked fit quiz. Click to open it in the editor. |
| Preview | Opens the product page on your live storefront to verify the button appears. |
How coverage is determined¶
SmartSize builds the linked product list by evaluating your product display rules for every product in your catalog. A product appears as linked when:
- a size chart's product display rules include the product, or
- a fit quiz's product display rules include the product, or
- a size chart is the slave/linked chart of a fit quiz that matches the product (shown with a chain icon)
Open the Linked products page¶
In SmartSize, go to Linked products from the main navigation.
The first time you open the page, SmartSize checks for cached data. If no cache exists, it automatically generates the linked product list by scanning your catalog and display rules. This may take a few moments for large catalogs.
Search and filter¶
Use the search fields above the table to narrow the list:
- Search by product name — filters rows by the product title
- Search by quiz or chart name — filters rows by the linked size chart or fit quiz title
Both searches match partial text and work together.
Sort the table¶
Click the Sort button to change the sort order:
| Sort option | Order |
|---|---|
| Product name | A–Z or Z–A |
| Size chart status | Active first or Draft first |
| Size chart name | A–Z or Z–A |
| Quiz status | Active first or Draft first |
| Quiz name | A–Z or Z–A |
Pagination¶
The table shows 15 products per page. Use the pagination controls to move between pages.
Refresh the linked products cache¶
When you change product display rules, publish or unpublish charts, or modify your Shopify catalog, the linked product list can become stale. Refresh it to see the latest state.
- On the Linked products page, click Refresh.
- SmartSize clears the old cache and rescans your catalog and display rules.
- The updated list appears when the scan completes.
You do not need to refresh manually after every change. SmartSize updates the cache automatically in many cases. Refresh when you notice a product is missing or the status looks wrong.
Empty state¶
If your store has no products with linked charts or quizzes, or if SmartSize has not yet generated the cache, the page shows an empty state with a Generate button. Click it to build the linked product list for the first time.
Mobile view¶
On mobile devices, the table collapses into cards. Each card shows one product with stacked rows for the size chart and quiz information. Tap the actions menu (⋯) to preview the product, view the linked quiz, or view the linked size chart.
What to do next¶
- Assign a size chart to products
- Set up product display rules
- Import, export, duplicate, or delete a size chart
- SmartSize button is missing from my product page — if a product should have a chart but the button is not showing
